One of the things I've been interested in (and if you've read this blog since its beginning, you know I've worked this into many of my posts) is the idea of political narratives. Well, Democracy Corps has a a longer piece on qualitative research (focus groups, anecdotal evidence) that is definitely worth reading. They have come up w/ some info that is surprising and yet common sensical.
