Greenwald piece in The Guardian (UK) on why Julian Assange is right to have sought asylum from Ecuador:
*the Assange/Wikileaks situation is one that the majority of Americans don't understand (the media have already declared him guilty)--one, I would like to see the media actually investigate this story and not just serve as the propaganda mouthpiece of this Administration; and, two, after that happens, people should start to realize that Assange has actually served American interests well by bringing accountability to our foreign policy/foibles (which is why the Obama WH is driving itself crazy trying to extradite Assange to the US). If you care about transparency, accountability, and the rule of law, you don't want this to happen. Seriously. (I know that isn't the conventional narrative being spun).
